Metallized barriers
Metallized films act as a barrier against the transmission of gas, oxygen, water vapour, light and can vary intensity according to the optical density of metallization, that is to the amount of aluminium sublimated on the surface of the film.
They are obviously non-transparent films and are often used to replace those substrates laminated with real aluminium foils.
The metallization homogeneity across the whole band of the film and the adhesion values of the metal on the plastic film are among the elements that demonstrate not only the characteristics required of the film, but also the skill of the manufacturer.
Metallized films are used in both the food and pharmaceutical flexible packaging sector and in industrial laminates.
